The casket team prepares to place the casket on the caisson. The caison is drawn by a team of six color matched horses. While all the horses are saddled, only the ones on the left have riders. (In this view the lead rider and horse pair are obscured by the second rider and horse) In an operational environment, the ones on the right would have provisions attached. The caison commander is mounted on a seventh horse and rides to the left of the pulling team during the procession. Note a unit from the Air Force Band in the back ground. When the procession moved out the detail commander and his guidon bearer moved to the lead, followed by the band. The color guard moved to it's position behind the band and it in turn was followed by the two flights of honor guards. Once those elements had entered the cemetary, the caisson and the casket team moved out, followed by Ernie's Flag bearer and the motorcade.
