In the late summer of 1947 Ernie went to the University of Michigan to study Electrical Engineering. This picture of Ernie, Ed and Helen was taken in front of her brother Walt Petraborg's house at L'Anse in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Helen and Ed stayed there while Ernie went to Ann Arbor, registered for classes, and finally located a house for them to live in at Whitmore Lake. Note: This photo has been significantly cropped to remove much of the house front.
