Col. Ernest T. Cragg, 20th Tactical Fighter Wing commander, is leaving soon for his new assignment as command of the 3500th Pilot Training Wing at Reese AFB, Tex. Col. Cragg has been a popular fixture at Wethersfield since June 1963 when he became wing vice commander. After two years as the 20th's number two man, he stepped up to his present position on June 26th, 1965.
Colonel Cragg was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on Jan. 19 1922. He was graduated from Greenwich High School, Greenwich, Conn., the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1943 and received his Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University in 1963.

Now a command pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours, Colonel Cragg is looking forward to his new assignment as a challenge, but has regrets about leaving Wethersfield. He said June 7 at the annual Anglo-American garden party that he would probably 'never leave the famous 20th altogether.'
Colonel Cragg is married to the former Helen Claire Petraborg of Seattle and they have two sons, Edward E. and Peter C. Mrs. Cragg is a keen gardener as well as being active in social and welfare work. Edward is 20 years old and a junior at Rice Institute (University), Houston. Peter, who is nearly 15, has been attending Earnley, a new public school in Sussex.
